Landholders benefit from new Mining and Coal Seam Gas legal guide
Landholders and community groups who want to know the facts about their rights in relation to potential coal seam gas and mining developments are the big winners from a joint QUT-Environmental Defenders Office (EDO) project.
QUT Faculty of Law lecturer Dr Rowena Maguire said law students and the EDO had developed a simple-to-read guide to mining and CSG law in Queensland that provided the information most sought-after by landholders.She said the project had involved students meeting with landholders and running workshops to find out the information they needed most.The result is the Environmental Defenders Office's Guide to Mining and CSG law in Queensland."We found landholders were often bombarded ...
