Skilling up the green economy
Industry and government have provided a leading-edge renewable energy training facility with solar, wind and hydro technologies on the roof of RMIT University's Building 56/57.
The renewable energy generated will also help power the building itself.
Green jobs and green industries help reduce the dependency on fossil fuels, reduce greenhouse-gas emissions and protect natural eco-systems.
The facility allows pre-apprentice, apprentice, Diploma and Advanced Diploma students in electrical programs to monitor conditions on the roof from the classroom, giving them practical experience in the operations of solar energy systems in real time.
