Free public lecture by historian Henry Reynolds
Eminent historian Professor Henry Reynolds will present a free public lecture titled The Tasmanian Roots of the Republican Issue.
Prof Reynolds will address the history of the republican issue in Tasmania, focusing on Australia's pre-eminent republican, Andrew Inglis Clark.
Prof Reynolds is an Australian historian whose primary work has focused on the frontier conflict between European settlement of Australia and indigenous Australians.
He is currently a Honorary Research Professor in the UTAS School of History and Classics. Prof Reynolds is also a well-known author of many books on Australian history with his most recent publication being A History of Tasmania.
This lecture is presented by the UTAS School of Government, in collaboration with the Institute of Public Administration Australia.
