Almost 2300 University of Tasmania students will don caps and gowns to attend graduations over the next two weeks in Launceston, Hobart and, for the first time, Burnie.
In 13 separate ceremonies, University of Tasmania Chancellor Mr Damian Bugg AM QC, Deputy Chancellor Yvonne Rundle and Vice-Chancellor Professor Daryl Le Grew will confer awards and degrees to 59 graduates in Burnie, 1422 graduates in Hobart and 799 graduates in Launceston.
This includes Town and Gown Parades in Launceston and Hobart, where graduates from all faculties are invited to process along the city streets to their ceremony.
The first graduation ceremony will be held in Burnie on Wednesday, 9 December 2009.
The Hobart ceremonies will be held Monday, 14 December, Tuesday, 15 December and Wednesday, 16 December, at the University Centre, Sandy Bay Campus and Federation Concert Hall.
The Launceston ceremonies will be held on Saturday, 19 December and start with a Town and Gown Parade at 10.30am from the Pilgrim Church, Paterson St, after which graduation ceremonies will be held at 11am, 2.30pm and 5.30pm at the Albert Hall.
