With Open Universities Australia you can study online in your own time, anywhere in the world. With four study periods a year, you can fast track your qualification or take it slow and balance study with your busy lifestyle. There are no entry requirements to start studying with Open Universities Australia.
The following table describes the four levels of study available through Open Universities Australia.

Description |
| Bridging Units |
When beginning or returning to study you may want to complete some bridging and study skills units to bring you up to speed before starting a course, such as:
Introductory units providing study skills Example: essay writing, time management and exam techniques
Subject–Specific units providing an introduction or refresher to a particular topic Example: Maths

| Vocational Education and Training (VET) units |
To develop skills and competencies relevant to the workplace. These courses emphasize practical skills rather than theoretical skills. Example: Diploma of Business

| Undergraduate units |
Offer the first level of study at university. You can study individual units or work towards a whole degree.
Each undergraduate unit is recognised and credited to any undergraduate degree offered via Open Universities Australia.

| Postgraduate units |
Offered to students who have already completed an undergraduate degree. Ideal for professional development, career advancement or career change. Many programs include a research project.

Units are offered in arts, business, education, IT, health, science and law. You can graduate with a degree or qualification from 15 universities or TAFEs. With over 700 units and 50 qualifications, there really is something for everyone.

As an Open Universities Australia student you will be eligible for FEE-HELP if you:
- are enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate units made available by an approved higher education provider, access to which is provided by Open Universities Australia
- are an Australian citizen or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- have not already used your FEE-HELP limit.
However, if you have completed 8 or more units of study with Open Universities Australia and have failed 50% or more of those units, you are not entitled to FEE HELP for Open Universities Australia units.

To access FEE-HELP assistance you must complete a Request for FEE-HELP assistance – Open Universities Australia form in which you are required to list the units you will be undertaking in the study period(s).
