Applying directly to a provider

Generally you apply through a state Tertiary Admission Centre (TAC) for admission to a course of study at a Higher education provider (provider). However in some cases you may need to apply directly to your chosen provider rather than a TAC for admission to the course of study that you wish to complete.

You may have to apply directly to a provider because:

  • the provider is not represented by a TAC,
  • your provider is represented by a TAC but the course of study you wish to undertake is not listed in the TAC course guide,
  • you are already enrolled at the provider,
  • you are already enrolled at the provider,
  • you missed the TAC closing date,
  • you are applying in the mid-year intake,
  • you are undertaking final year honours,
  • you are undertaking non-award study,
  • you are undertaking Australian National Internships, or
  • you are an international student.
